Have you ever spent an entire paycheck on a vacation? Or better yet, donated 2 week’s salary to charity?
We have. Every month, Libby and I would spend $1500, a whole paycheck at the time of my first real job.
Except it wasn’t on vacations or charity.
That was our insurance premium.
Our insurance premiums were so expensive, we couldn’t even afford to use the actual product we were purchasing every month!
Going to the doctor was unheard of in our household. Doing so would incur more out-of-pocket costs. These were costs we just simply couldn’t afford.
It’s a pretty helpless situation. And sadly it’s the reality for most Americans.
Our family has been a part of a growing movement to help remedy the costs of high insurance premiums.
We got rid of it. And opted for proactive and preventative care instead.
Taking steps towards a healthy and active lifestyle is literally more cost-effective than reacting to illness and injuries. This approach is more economical than using medical treatment.
We join in a health-sharing program just in case **knocks on wood** we incurred a large medical bill.
Everything else, we gladly pay cash for. And as a result, we no longer rent insurance for $1500 a month from a no-face company. Now, it’s actually half that, and we now own our health.
Owning your health gives a tremendous amount of control that empowers you to make better decisions.

I am proud to have started Ascend Physical Therapy as a cash-only clinic. This allows us to offer the same outcome to people who feel like their health is out of control.
I am proud to be a part of this new movement of proactive health.
And most importantly, I am proud of you for wanting to own your own health too.
